                    <p>Everyone needs something slightly different to get where they need to go. An errand-running bike for NW Portland is probably not the same bike we’d recommend for someone commuting every day over the West Hills. As such, we have a wide range of bikes suitable for commuting. With the exception of a couple models, pretty much all the bikes we carry are good choices for urban use.</p>
<p>With that in mind, here are a few of our favorites:</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.specialized.com/ca/en/bikes/multi-use/daily" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.specialized.com']);">Specialized Daily</a> </strong>- A classically-styled &#8220;town bike&#8221; with smart parts spec like a lightweight alloy frame, metal fenders, bolt-on wheels and flat-resistant tires. The comfy upright position paired with sporty tires makes this bike faster than it looks; in case you’re late for the 6:50 show.</p>
<p><strong>Specialized <a href="http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/multi-use/sirrus" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.specialized.com']);">Sirrus</a> /<a href="http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/womens-multi-use/vita" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.specialized.com']);"> Vita </a></strong>- Über Versatile Commuter/Road/Gravel/Touring bike. We carry the basic model, which is one of our all time favorites for riders on a budget, as well as the Sport Disc models and the Comp Model for riders looking for lighter/sportier/faster.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.raleighusa.com/bikes-road-heritage-steel-clubman-disc" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.raleighusa.com']);">Raleigh Clubman Disc</a></strong> - The Clubman is a hell of a good deal for a great steel road commuter. Disc brakes, 20 speeds, drop bars and fenders for a cool grand.</p>

Available as a complete commute/cyclocross build or Singlespeed; or as a frame and we’ll build it up custom for you.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/road/diverge/diverge-elite-a1" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.specialized.com']);">Specialized Diverge Elite</a></strong>- A jack-of-all-trades road machine with room for fenders, big tires and a rear rack. With a lightweight alloy frame and carbon fork this is ready for the 9-to-5 as well as a big weekend ride.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://surlybikes.com/bikes/straggler" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://surlybikes.com']);">Surly Straggler</a> / <a href="http://surlybikes.com/bikes/straggler_650b" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://surlybikes.com']);">Straggler 650</a></strong>- Like a Surly Cross Check &#8220;turned to 11.&#8221; Better drivetrain, disc brakes, better tires; the Straggler is a classic in the making.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://surlybikes.com/bikes/ogre" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://surlybikes.com']);">Surly Ogre</a></strong> - Sure some might say it’s a mountain bike, but tell that to the everyone out there commuting on Ogres. Fenders and racks are a breeze and the burliness translates to durability for the daily rider.</p>
<p><a href="http://salsacycles.com/bikes/vaya" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://salsacycles.com']);"><strong>Salsa Vaya</strong></a>- Available in three different trim levels, the Vaya is an awesome commuter. Originally conceived as a light-tourer, the ride quality and fit are optimal for commuting or touring- any time you prize comfort on a ride, the Vaya has your back.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://salsacycles.com/bikes/fargo" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://salsacycles.com']);">Salsa Fargo</a></strong>- The Fargo 3 is a drop-bar bikepacking bike, but with fender eyelets and rack compatibility, it also makes for a great comfy commuter. The Fargo 2 and Fargo Ti need some coercion to be set up with fenders…<a title="Fender Wizards!" href="/">but it’s possible if you’re into it. </a></p>
